Article Retraction and Withdrawal

The Cipta Abdi Cendekia Journal upholds the principle that published articles are a permanent part of the scientific record. Editors make independent publication decisions guided by editorial policies, publishing ethics, and legal considerations (such as libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism).

Published articles should remain accessible and unaltered. However, in exceptional cases, articles may be retracted, withdrawn, removed, or replaced to safeguard the integrity of the scholarly record.

All versions of published articles, including those affected by these actions, will be retained in the journal archive with clear identification of their status.

1. Article Retraction

Articles may be retracted for serious misconduct, including:

·       Plagiarism,

·       Fabrication or falsification of data,

·       Multiple submissions,

·       False claims of authorship.

Retraction process:

·       Requires agreement of all authors, confirmed in writing.

·       A retraction notice will be published, linked to the article, stating the reason and initiator.

·       The original article will remain online and in print but marked as “Retracted”.

·       The notice will also appear in the journal’s table of contents.

2. Article Withdrawal

Withdrawal applies only to articles that have been accepted but not yet formally published (e.g., early online versions). Reasons may include:

·       Serious errors,

·       Duplicate submissions,

·       Authorship disputes,

·       Ethical violations.

In such cases:

·       The article will be replaced with a withdrawal notice, while metadata (title, authors, DOI) remains visible.

·       Authors cannot withdraw an article once it has been formally published.

3. Article Removal

Removal is only applied in rare and exceptional cases, such as when an article:

·       Is defamatory,

·       Violates legal rights,

·       Is subject to a court order, or

·       Contains content that poses a serious health or safety risk.

In this case:

·       The article’s metadata will remain available.

·       The content will be replaced with a notice stating the article has been removed for legal or ethical reasons.

4. Article Replacement

If the article content poses a serious health or safety risk, the author may request to replace it with a corrected version.

·       The removal procedure will be applied.

·       A corrected version will be published with clear documentation of changes and reasons.
