Peer Review Process
Peer Review Process
All manuscripts submitted to Phytomedicine and Integrative Health Journal (PIHJ) undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance. The review process is carried out as follows:
1. Initial Editorial Screening
- Each submission is first checked by the editorial office forscope, formatting, plagiarism, and compliance with author guidelines.
- Submissions containingplaceholder text (e.g., Lorem Ipsum), empty templates, incomplete manuscripts, or content clearly outside the journal’s scope will be subject to immediate rejection (desk rejection) without peer review.
- Only manuscripts meeting the minimum requirements proceed to the next stage.
2. Editorial Assessment
- The Editor-in-Chief or Section Editor evaluates the manuscript forscientific merit and relevance.
- Manuscripts deemed suitable are forwarded to peer reviewers.
3. Double-Blind Peer Review
- At leasttwo independent reviewers are assigned to evaluate each manuscript.
- Both authors and reviewers remainanonymous to ensure impartiality.
- Reviewers assessoriginality, methodology, clarity, ethical compliance, and contribution to the field.
4. Reviewer Reports
- Reviewers provide structured feedback and recommend one of the following decisions:
- Accept
- Accept with minor revisions
- Major revisions required (resubmission)
- Reject
5. Editorial Decision
- The Editor considers the reviewers’ recommendations and makes thefinal decision.
- If reviewer opinions are significantly divergent, athird reviewer may be consulted.
6. Revision and Resubmission
- Authors are given an opportunity torevise their manuscript in line with reviewer comments.
- Revised manuscripts may be sent back to reviewers if necessary.
7. Final Acceptance and Publication
- Once accepted, the manuscript undergoescopyediting, typesetting, and online publication.
- All accepted articles are published open access and remain freely available to readers worldwide.
