Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Submission Procedure

Please read carefully the Phytomedicine and Integrative Health Journal (PIHJ) publishing system policy. The submission of manuscripts to PIHJ is conducted online through the Open Journal System (OJS).

  • Users need toregister when accessing the system for the first time.
  • Detailed instructions and help files are available online. If you encounter difficulties, please contact the editorial office by email.
  • All manuscripts must be prepared according to the providedtemplate and saved in .docx format (Word 2010 or higher) or .doc format (older versions).
  • Submissions that containplaceholder text (e.g., Lorem Ipsum), empty templates, or irrelevant content will be rejected immediately without peer review (desk rejection) as they do not meet the minimum requirements for consideration.
  • Each submission must be accompanied by a signedAuthor Statement/Declaration Letter.

General Rules of Writing

  • Articles should include:title, author name(s), abstract in English, keywords, introduction, methods, results and discussion, conclusions, and references (see Article Writing Systematic below).
  • Manuscripts may be written inEnglish or Bahasa Indonesia using Microsoft Word.
  • Font:Cambria, size 10, single line spacing.
  • Margins: top and left 2.5 cm, right and bottom 2 cm.
  • Length:8–12 pages for research articles, up to 16 pages for systematic reviews/surveys.
  • Paper size:A4, single column.
  • Equations must be written usingMicrosoft Equation.
  • Tables: numbered sequentially (Table 1, Table 2, etc.), title above the table, no vertical borders, sources (if any) below the table.
  • Figures: numbered sequentially (Figure 1, Figure 2, etc.), title below the figure, source (if any) stated under the title.
  • References must followIEEE style using a reference manager (Mendeley, EndNote).

Organization of Articles

Research Article

  • Title: Brief, clear, max. 12 words. Include author(s) and institution(s).
  • Abstract: Written in English and Bahasa Indonesia, max. 200 words. Should include purpose, methods, key findings, conclusions, and keywords.
  • Introduction: Background, research problem, and objectives.
  • Methods: Design, place/time, population, sampling, instruments, procedures, and data analysis.
  • Results and Discussion: Findings presented in narrative, tables, or figures, supported by statistical analysis and compared with relevant literature.
  • Conclusion: Main results, linked directly to objectives (avoid generalization).
  • Acknowledgement (if any): Acknowledge individuals or institutions with written consent.
  • References: At least 80% journal articles, preferably from the last 5 years, written in IEEE style.

Literature Review Article

  • Structure follows research article (title, abstract, introduction, discussion, references).
  • The discussion should be organized into subsections synthesizing key literature.

Submission Preparation Checklist

Authors must confirm that their submission meets the following requirements:

  1. The manuscript hasnot been previously published and is not under consideration elsewhere.
  2. The submission file is in.doc or .docx format.
  3. Where available,URLs for references have been provided.
  4. The manuscript follows the requiredformatting, citation, and reference style as described in the Author Guidelines.
  5. Allillustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points.
  6. The submission isfree from placeholder or invalid content (e.g., Lorem Ipsum, empty templates). Submissions that do not comply will be desk rejected.
  7. A signedAuthor Statement/Declaration Letter is included.
  8. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section, instructions inEnsuring a Blind Review have been followed.

    • The JCCH website may use cookies to enhance user experience and collect anonymous traffic data.

    • Users may disable cookies in their browser settings, although some site functions may be limited.

  5. Author and Reviewer Responsibility

    • Authors and reviewers are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and communication with the journal.
